STMEA ALL COUNTY CHORUS Practice Files & Festival Information
Please scroll down to the two playlists embedded below to access the practice track recordings for every voice part in both the middle school and high school All-County chorus pieces. All students are expected to practice with their music at home and come to the festival knowing their part well. All mp3 tracks can be downloaded so that students can listen to them on their personal devices.
The 2016 STMEA All-County Chorus Festival will be held at the Newfield Central High School on January 15th and 16th.
The concert will be at 2:00 on Saturday with the middle school chorus beginning the program, followed by the high school chorus. The middle school conductor will be Dr. Lon Beery. Our high school director will be Dr. Todd Ranney.
Reading Rehearsal
The middle school only will hold a reading rehearsal at Newfield High School on TUESDAY, January 5th from 4-6pm. All schools attending the festival are required to attend. Please arrive and sit in the auditorium with your things to wait for room assignments. Students should all come prepared with their music, pencils, and water. No dinner will be provided at this rehearsal.
Friday, January 15th
Rehearsals will be held at Newfield HS from 3:00pm-7:30pm. Transportation by school bus to and from Dryden will be provided. We will have to leave school at 2:00pm that afternoon, so students will miss half of their 9th period class. Students will need to be picked up by their parents when we return to Dryden at approximately 8:30pm that evening.
Saturday, January 16th
A bus will be leaving from Dryden at 7:30am to get students to Newfield for rehearsals that begin at 9:00am and go straight on until the concert. The concert begins at 2:00pm and is free of charge. Students are encouraged to get a ride home with their families at the conclusion of the concert. If transportation back to Dryden is absolutely necessary, please contact Mrs. Easton.
Music
Students will return the music on Saturday, before or after the concert (depending on the conductor). Bills will be sent to schools that do not return all of the music that was given to them.
Preparing for the Concert
Students should practice regularly to know the music well prior to January 15th. Please make frequent use of the practice tracks listed below.

Dryden Middle School Chorus Concert 2015
For extra credit, you can listen to the recording of this year's Middle School Winter Concert. Take notes on what you hear, and then write a full paragraph (4 complete sentences) with musical details about how each song was performed. Include the title of each piece at the beginning of the paragraph. Turn these in before the end of January to earn extra credit on your chorus grade, or to make up your concert grade (if you had an excused absence).
